Goddamn I suck at knitting.
Yet still I persist.
Every couple of years.
At trying to make…. “something”.
I thought this would be a portable, relaxing endeavour while we move.
I was wrong.
Kudos to Kirsty for her magnificent Creative Space hosting skills, head on over!

Keep, calm and carry on … or so they say. I'm with you on knitting – portable, yes, relaxing, no! Good luck with the house! Nic

that's so me and knitting too. it looks easy and then the pattern's written in double dutch and i get weak at the knees … you get the picture. i'm trying like crazy to make something for my mother and the moment and I had to put it down on the train this morning because it freaked me … perhaps we need an anti knitting stress mantra? any ideas?

I need to teach you to crochet, perhaps knitting is just not your thing?x

My vote's for embroidery, iron on or draw on a pattern and Bob's your uncle!
(ditto to Jess's offer if you want an embroidery lesson or two.)
As an aside, I have about 17 uncles, and none of them are called Bob.

Get a Nintendo DS. Much more portable and relaxing…

arg. Knitting. what a pain in the arse! Counting and missing and dropping stitches! I'm all about crochet 🙂 and straight lines, of course

Yes…have a crack at crochet.

I love the colour you're using there. So far I've knitted nothing but a few scarves & some squares to make a blanket, keeping it simple, but it is nice to go back to every now & then.

I cannot knit to save my life- but i can crochet- its much faster and I do like the hooks… tried it? It might be more your thing?

I can't knit to save my life, just never made sense to me, but I can crochet with my eyes closed. Perhaps crochet might be the way to go? By the way your knitting looks lovely!

Knitting is one of the things I will happily say I suck at. I've tried several times but I just can not do it. Would love to but I can't. sometimes its best to leave it to those who know how.

Me too. Its the counting and concentrating thing.

*ahem*
I suck even worse at crochet – although I desperatly want to… not suck.
Jess – you'll regret the offer but I'm taking you up on it. 😉
Tas – I have one, but I'm sick of the only two games I like… and new ones are EXPENSIVE!
Kate – Are you the only one that noticed I was pulling it out…?! AND why?! Bravo!

I hear you with the knitting! I have recently discovered all my past attempts….a little pile of small squares…! Think I might put them altogether and make a patchwork blanket…I will not be defeated!!!!

I have heard crocheting is a bit easier but I do love some knitted accessories. I applaud you, I still have not learned either.

I'm with Tas too.
But you suck about 20+ rows less than me at it (you can't even do a couple of stitches – is that what they are called ..)

I'm not very good at knitting either. that's why I crochet 😉
